Hello, I can't believe it's mid November already. I’ve been so busy recently that I haven’t even looked at my photos on my camera. I sat down and sorted through my photos the other day and there were so many lovely memories, of the summer, of our holiday to Italy, and of Yarndale.
We went on holiday to Italy and visited Venice and Verona as well as Monza to watch the Formula One race.
Mum and I went to Yarndale and bought a mountain of yarn each.
We also met the people I met up with last year for another Yarndale picnic.
Rob managed to run his first half marathon – the Oxford Half Marathon and I was there to cheer him on.
Also, I got some hamsters. Two adorable girl hamsters called Juno and Hera.

My Day and a Scarf Progress Report
I had a long management lecture this morning followed immediately by a meeting with my project supervisor to discuss my progress. He was pleased with my progress and I'll be starting to assemble the previous Radio Telescope soon.
I didn't stay in uni too long as I wanted to go into Liverpool to meet The Boy as he got off the train (he had been away visiting his family this weekend). He hadn't expected to see me but it was worth the walk there to surprise him. I also picked up another ball of wool for one of the scarves I'm making as I figured out I didn't buy enough originally - oops!
I made so much progress on this scarf while I was sat watching Formula One as it is just knit a row, turn, knit a row, turn, for the whole scarf.

A Very Generous Friend
One of my uni friends asked me if I wanted some wool the other day. She had been given it by her Auntie but had nothing to do with it so she offeref it to me instead. I was just expecting a few balls of wool but instead I got an amazing amount of wool.
I've grouped it by weight - the red 4ply at the start, then it's double knit, then aran, then the denim super chunky stuff at the end.
I love the colour of the Aran wool below. I've now got 450g of it.
Included was also a set of handles and a stitch holder.
Overall I think I am very lucky with what I got. The DK colours are all ones I didn't have before.
In other news, my uni project is going well - we've got to present it to the supervisor and assessor on Tuesday so we've been busy all day every day this week trying to get it working and complete our poster.

International Crochet Month
Isn't it exciting! A whole month devoted to crochet!
Today I had an adventure to the post office to send wool to Grace Paretree which was fun - I've never sent more than a letter before. The wool was the stuff I used for The Boy's mitts for his birthday and I only had about 25grams left so I figured I would send it to a better home.
Also The Boy and I have bought Al Murray tickets for November which will be good fun.

Treating myself - wool shopping
As I said yesterday I have been looking forward to my exams being over so I can go wool shopping. So I set off this morning to go and re-stock my wool stash.
Here is what I bought:
I'm making myself a lovely snuggly cowl using a pattern by HappyBerry so I bought a huge 200g ball of James C. Brett Chunky wool.
I bought some Sirdar Click (as it was reduced) for The Boy's birthday fingerless mitts.
Also as I mentioned I want to make a Tetris blanket so I bought lots of wool for that (the purple is the only colour missing but I already had that:
Annoyingly, I forgot the black that I needed for the background so I will need to pop back for that.
I did get some funny looks for having that much wool - both from the shop assistants and from the people I passed on my way home.
I also love my stash bag for my Tetris blanket. I've gotten to a point of commandeering every canvas bag I can find and The Boy now looks out for free ones for me - this one is from a family friend who works at the Royal Institute and was promoting his work in Liverpool recently.
And finally, as it is Friday, I have to post my finished projects.
I decided to make headbands for my teddy bear using this pattern for the bow but experimenting with the straps - either crochet chains or bands with little ear-holes:
Doesn't she look lovely!
