WIP Wednesday - The Tetris Blanket

I've still got a long way to go on this project but I've been sewing and crocheting it every day (or trying to) but I'm still on target to finish on my predicted date.

So far I've crocheted and sewn 68 squares so only 132 to go.  I've got 3 complete rows but mostly it's pretty random - a big splodge in the middle with squares coming out in all directions.  The most important thing is that it's making progress!

Doesn't it look pretty good!  I can't wait for it to be complete now.

I also tried out a square of Crochet Lego Blanket Tutorial.  It does look like Lego and it is so simple - just using bobbles to create the blobs (technical term) on a Lego brick.

Sorry the pictures look so dark but otherwise it's hard to see the bobbles.

My parents brought my stuff back to the flat today as I stayed with them for just over a week so I've been watching cricket this afternoon (while I unpack) as the Indian Premier League started today *does happy dance*.  Last year I watched almost every match while I was revising for my exams.

Merry Christmas Everyone

I can’t believe how close Christmas is now!  I spent all of yesterday reminding people that it was Christmas Grace (it didn’t seem fair that Eve had a day and I didn’t so the 23rd of December is officially Christmas Grace).

I wasn’t well for a couple of days so I couldn’t go and visit my best friend so he posted me my present which was so nice of him – THANK YOU!

So here is what I got:

Ok the little graduate minifig I bought myself but the rest was all off my best friend - the Christmas tree, the mini R2D2 and the racing car.

Also, my friend sent me a picture of the R2D2 that I made, sitting in his Christmas Tree:

Have a great Christmas everyone!

My Free Time

Hello!  It has been rather a while since I last blogged but I've been so busy getting settled back into uni.

Here is an update on what I've been up to:

Two weekends ago I met up with my best friend from work (the one I went to see Senna with) in Liverpool.  We went to the RenĂ© Magritte exhibition in the Tate Liverpool gallery.

Golconde

The Treachery of Images

The Human Condition

Time Transfixed

I do love surrealism and it was a really good exhibition.  My friend's favourite was Time Transfixed but the one I found most interesting was The Lovers:

The Lovers
I'm not sure why though - it's just the one that stuck in my mind.

On our way through Liverpool we found a Lego shop and we're both pretty big Lego fans so we ended up buying lots of Lego and getting Lego VIP cards (why not!).  I got myself a little car which made me think of a Lotus racing car.

Last weekend I visited home for the first time in almost a month.  It was great to spend time with my family and visit my Nan.

It also meant that I got to watch the Formula One race with my Mum.

Anyone who follows my Mum's blog will know that she bought wellies recently.  I couldn't resist getting myself some snazzy wellies too:

They had their first outing today - walking to ASDA through the puddles just because I could!

That's about all I've done.  I've got some photos of projects to show but I'll do that in a separate post.
